After I have a hearing, how long does it take to get a written decision by the Administrative Law Judge?

It takes on average 4-6 months to receive a decision. Much of this has to do with the fact that judges make decisions but do not actually write the lengthy decision notices themselves. Notices of decision (unfavorable, partially favorable, fully favorable) are written not by the judges but by decision-writers.
